About MD-EN

reducing barriers which impede employment

The Maryland Employment Network is a statewide network of 9 high-performing, outcome-driven partner agencies, in addition to our in house staff, that help individuals who are receiving Social Security benefits go to work. The Maryland Employment Network is committed to reducing barriers which impede employment and assist Marylanders with disabilities to reach their full potential. Maryland Employment Network will decrease stigma and increase independence, self-sufficiency and quality of life by providing high quality employment and benefits counseling services. We believe that, through work, anyone, regardless of disability, can find means to meet overall rehabilitation and financial goals!

If you are enrolled in one of our partner agencies, we work with that vocational program to make sure that you get work support services that you need. If you are not enrolled in a partner provider, our in-house staff can work directly with you! We can talk with you about your work goals and what you need to reach those goals. Then we can decide together if our services are what you need to go to work. Examples of our services include help with a job search, personalized benefits counseling and follow-along benefits counseling once you are employed. The Maryland Employment Network is authorized by the Social Security Administration to provide intensive job services to Ticket Holders. MD-EN and the Ticket to Work program are free and voluntary services.

Maryland’s Behavioral Health Administration provides funding to the Maryland Employment Network because of their belief that employment and recovery are so closely related. We are a statewide program with a home base in downtown Bel Air, Maryland.
